'Adnan had the best resume with experience in HR'

As a senior consultant at Babbage, Wesley Snel helps organizations with the recruitment and selection of professionals in marketing, communication and content. But six months ago, his own team had a shortage of staff. There was a need for a recruitment assistant. Through WSP Groot-Amsterdam, Pakistani Adnan Shahzad is now working at Babbage. Wesley: 'It's incredible what he has learned in just a few months.'

Adnan Shahzad has been working at Babbage since April 2023. As a Recruitment Assistant, he places vacancies on the website, converts professionals' CVs into the correct format and manages the general mailbox. Wesley: 'He has to use the Dutch language for all his tasks. That works out great.'

And that is special, because Adnan lived in Pakistan until 5 years ago. He obtained an MBA in Business Administration, specialized in HR and worked in the field for 12 years, 2 of which in Dubai. Adnan says, in Dutch: 'Due to difficulties, I could no longer go to Pakistan. Then in 2018 I applied for asylum in the Netherlands with my wife and two children.' After the integration, he follows various internships through his supervisor from the municipality of Diemen, his new place of residence, to gain experience and learn the language. His goal: to work towards a paid job in human resources, his field of expertise.
