It's no easy task: finding the perfect fit in a technical sector known primarily within its own industry. Maritime manufacturing company Huisman, a global player in high-end engineering and technical innovation, was looking for a versatile Communications Advisor for its headquarters in Schiedam. After several team changes, it was crucial to find stability, continuity, and a lasting fit. Annet Stuurman, PR & Communications Manager at Huisman, explains how Babbage made all the difference.
A challenging search in a tight market
"We're a family business with almost a hundred years of history," says Annet. "We're the market leader in heavy offshore cranes and handling equipment for the energy market and play a key role in the energy transition. A vacancy arose within our communications team for a Communications Advisor. Because the team is small, we were looking for someone who could think strategically but also excel in execution—a true all-around professional. That proved to be a challenging task. Our internal recruiters were busy, and the pool of suitable candidates was small. So, after conducting our own recruitment campaign, we decided to engage a specialized agency."

Ultimately, the choice fell on Isadora, who has been with the team since June. "She fits perfectly with our company culture," Annet says enthusiastically. "From the first conversation, we felt a connection. She settled in very quickly, and it feels like she's been with us for years."
Isadora's arrival brought exactly what the team needed: stability and continuity. "We were critical in our selection process, as we were looking for someone for the long term. Thanks to Babbage, we were able to choose from several strong candidates and truly make the best match."
A partner that takes care of everything

While engineers and technicians know Huisman well, this isn't so obvious for candidates in support departments. "Our brand is less well-known among communications professionals. An agency like Babbage really broadens your reach."
