Yes. Babbage offers both part-time and full-time assignments, ranging from a few hours per week to 40 hours. Most clients request 32 or 36 hours per week.

Secondment means you work for a client under a contract with Babbage. Babbage is your employer and handles your contract, salary, and administrative matters, among other things.

Babbage offers two types of secondment: permanent secondment and flexible (project) secondment.

With flexible secondment, your employment contract runs concurrently with the duration of your assignment and ends when the project concludes. With permanent secondment, your employment is continuous. In that case, our recruiters ensure a smooth transition from one assignment to the next.

Secondment is right for you if you enjoy varied assignments but also want the security and convenience of employment. Babbage handles the administrative tasks, so you can focus on your work. If you choose permanent secondment, you'll be part of our organization, and we'll be your professional home base.

Yes. If you're open to flexible secondment or are employed by Babbage, you have access to a wider range of assignments. Due to legislation and regulations, fewer assignments are available for freelancers, and more and more roles are being filled through employment contracts.

If you complete an assignment and haven't started a new one yet, we'll explore suitable internal projects together. For example, you can contribute through our in-house project office, Bureau Babbage. In the meantime, we'll continue to actively search for a new assignment that's a good fit for you.

Babbage offers a wide range of assignments within marketing, communications, and content. These include roles such as communications advisor, social media specialist, web editor, marketing manager, and spokesperson.

Many assignments are in the social domain. Besides intrinsic motivation, we consider demonstrable work experience and/or affinity with the sector. We also assess whether you have the necessary substantive experience and experience with relevant tools or systems.

Babbage's Communications Traineeship lasts 24 months.

Yes. During your assignment, you'll be guided by senior communications professionals. They'll coach you on your content and help you further develop your talents in your role.
