Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainable Entrepreneurship

Corporate social responsibility and sustainable entrepreneurship are high on our agenda. We express our social involvement in various ways, based on our own strengths and skills. Both in our business operations and services, and with specific initiatives.

Diversity Statement

At Babbage Company, everyone can and may be themselves; together we create a working environment in which everything is open to discussion and we ensure that everyone feels at home and no one is excluded. We believe in the power of difference: it is precisely the differences that make our organization and that of our clients stronger, more fun and more successful! We see it as our task to stimulate and convince our clients in this as well. We strive for a network of professionals that reflects society in all its diversity. That is why we signed the Diversity in Business Charter to formalize this. Our Diversity & Inclusivity task force is responsible for an annual program that aims to keep our entire workforce constantly alert to unconscious exclusion mechanisms.

Socially committed

We work for social organisations and NGOs at greatly reduced rates. We actively deploy marketing & communication expertise for various large companies where CSR policy needs to be shaped or where CSR projects are being carried out. The same applies to sustainability. We support the objectives of MVO Nederland and in our daily practice we specifically seek out the networks where CSR, sustainability and marketing & communication meet.

Sponsoring & support with communication power

We regularly stimulate specific social initiatives that fit our mission, vision and core values. In 2020, we will provide pro bono marketing & communication expertise to Dress for Succes. Dress for Succes is a non-profit organisation that provides people with a minimum income with suitable clothing and advice for a job or acquisition interview free of charge. In this way, they ensure that an applicant appears at a job interview full of confidence and does not have to miss the chance to make a good first impression. Read more about this collaboration here. We also share our experience and knowledge, including by stimulating board and volunteer work among our staff. For example, one of our MT members is a board member of Team Para Athletics.

Sustainable business operations and purchasing

We strive to carry out our work as sustainably as possible. By this we mean a policy that is good for people, the environment and society. We implement this in our own office, in our personnel policy and in the way we deal with our professionals, our suppliers and clients. We are critical when it comes to making company visits and introductory meetings and we invest in ways to improve our processes and reduce emissions. Our consultants drive 100% electric cars, we opt for sustainable products and our recruitment and advertising is only online. Our office is paperless and we encourage the use of public transport among our interim professionals and employees. Our written-off equipment and furniture is offered free of charge to schools or thrift shops.

Social Return / Tailor-made for people

As recruitment specialists, we speak to people every day at an important crossroads in their lives: choosing a new work environment. Our aim is to also offer less fortunate people a sustainable chance. We work closely with Profunda, a reintegration agency that helps people with a disability or distance to the labour market with reintegration. Think of work experience placements, trial internships, training (including via the Babbage Academy) and application training. For several years now, we have also offered people from these target groups a workplace in our own organisation with personal guidance to gain work experience. And together we look at what the next step in career could be.
