As Manager of External Relations and Public Affairs, you are the face of the professional association to politicians, the government, the media, and other stakeholders. You build bridges between the cockpit and the outside world, and ensure that the voice of Dutch pilots is heard—both nationally and internationally.
You actively follow current events and legislation in political The Hague and Brussels, and you know exactly how to build and maintain a network within this context. You have a demonstrable affinity with PR, social media, and traditional media. You are the eyes, ears, and sometimes the voice of the VNV in the public and political domain.
You advise the Board strategically and substantively on political and societal developments that could potentially impact aviation and specifically commercial pilots. You know how to translate a policy vision into concrete action and always maintain an overview of ongoing files, projects, and interests.
You work closely with the board and the online campaigner and serve as a sparring partner for the board regarding external strategy.
You also bring the following competencies and personality traits:
The Dutch Pilots' Association (VNV) is nearly 100 years old and is the professional association for and by pilots. They represent the interests of 6.000 commercial pilots in the Netherlands, from safety in the air to decent employment terms and working conditions. VNV is focused on the future of both the profession and the sector. The organization is active, influential, and strongly connected to the aviation sector.
