Teamlead Recruitment,

“You have to be a commercial service provider through and through who can deal well with people.”

'Affinity with the content of our work, especially for the government, makes the work more fun and interesting, I think, but it is not the most important thing. Extensive knowledge of marketing and communication, our domain, is not either. I would say: you have to be a commercial service provider through and through. Commercial because you want to score, like to win and enjoy the game of negotiating to get the best deal for the candidate, client and Babbage. But you are also a service provider who provides people with something very important in their lives: an interesting interim assignment or, if you are a recruiter at the Recruitment & Selection team, even a new job. You do not need to have completed a specific training for recruitment, but that does not mean that everyone is a good recruiter. It is important for our interim team that you are competitive, can switch quickly, can negotiate sharply and have perseverance. It is also important that you can deal well with people, preferably have an elephant's memory, and also a goodwill factor. And also not unimportant: that you are a team player and super fun.'
