Are you a seasoned and savvy Press Officer ready to roll for one of THE most prestigious places of all times? Do you enjoy working in an international fast-paced and intriguingly complex environment? Then Euronext is looking for you as their leading Press Officer for The Amsterdam Exchange (full time, permanent job).

Your tasks & responsibilities

  • Liaising with the press and broadcast media on an everyday basis, pro-actively and responding to journalists' enquiries.
  • Working closely with the Head of Stakeholders Communication and the other Communications and Marketing team members across the Euronext markets to respond to local and international business heads’ needs
  • Creating and implementing effective communication plans, in close cooperation with the business;
  • Arranging press conferences, news briefings, media interviews for key spokespeople;
  • Writing high-quality press releases in both Dutch and English and follow up with the media;
  • Keeping up-to-date with current issues and public opinion; tracking media coverage and keeping an eye on industry developments;
  • Managing the press in a potential crisis situation;
  • Selecting media to approach, updating Dutch media lists for broadsheets, trade, web publications and broken down into business units and asset classes;
  • In collaboration with the team, you will manage social media for Euronext Amsterdam.

We are looking for a professional with

  • Bachelor/ Master in Communications or similar field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as press officer, or a similar communications role, for a consulting/ financial services company and a good understanding of financial markets;
  • Native Dutch and fluent in English. Excellent oral and written skills in both languages;
  • Good experience of working with the local Dutch media as well as the international financial media;
  • Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy where necessary;
  • Good practical and organizational skills with the ability to plan effectively and prioritize a complex and competing workload under pressure.
  • Team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and self-awareness. Ability to initiate and maintain excellent working relationships.

Your work environment

The International Communications team consists out of 17 team members of whom 5 are based in Amsterdam. Your focus as a Press Officer will be on the Amsterdam Exchange. Also, you will be responsible for several international projects of during which you will work closely with your international colleagues.
The role of the Communications department is to present and maintain a positive public image of the group as a whole: this includes proactively developing media outreach strategies; building relationships with media; creating product or service announcements; assisting executives with media and public speaking engagements; working with the Communications team to ensure consistency of messaging across Europe and functioning across all businesses within the group.
